YPMP is primarily a mentoring organisation. This objective is achieved through training and general mentoring sessions with experienced managers and leaders. On joining members will be taken through several mentoring programmes which they handle individually with the Chief Mentor or one of the Mentors that is assigned to them.

Trainings
Trainings
YPMP will frequently conduct trainings aimed at strengthening one’s ability to optimize skills and personal development. These include: becoming a critical thinker, good public speaking, a good time manager and attainment of leadership and interpersonal skills.
Trainings such as leadership training are helpful for honing “soft” leadership skills, such as conflict resolution skills, negotiation skills, and skills for effectively motiving, inspiring and leading others.

Management Trainings
Management Trainings
Management training programs will help young managers build skills for leveraging new opportunities and creating exceptional organizational value. Young managers will get to prepare for greater responsibility through management trainings in different business and management functions that exposes them to new skills for better and effective results. Management trainings will also enable the young managers to better manage risks, identify the right business opportunities, relationship management, conflict resolution and meet the challenges of the business environment of today and tomorrow and hence essential for organizational success.
The YPMP major management trainings will include;
Trainings to become an effective manager, Strategic planning, Authority, power and influence, Performance management, Effective customer service, Making effective presentations & Stress management.

Leadership is of atmost importance and behind every action is an effective leader. While leadership is one of the functions of a manager, leadership is broader than management. Managers must practice leadership even if they may not be leaders. But leaders will necessarily practice management. YPMP will have programs to develop individual members leadership potential. This will involve training and mentoring members to acquire and or improve their leadership knowledge and skills.

Great Value is gained out of these early meetings before work as they comprise of trainings and mentoring on specific and various discplines that help young managers in their operations or service delivery in organisations.

Many young people graduate and may not be easily employed, YPMP would encourage these youth to engage in Innovative Volunteerism which leverages skills, talents and experiences for mutual and public benefit. In the context of increasingly complex developmental challenges facing Uganda, Africa and the World as a whole, coupled with the population buldge , innovative volunteerism is critical in harnessing the youthful energies in the country and continent in tackling these development issues.
Finding Synergies and addressing challenges in a collective and inclusive way provides opportunities for all. Innovative volunteerism is really the pathway in achieving in achieving these synergies and consequently create opportunities for work among young people while making a difference in their communities.
